Who is Harriet Tubman and what is she famous for?

Harriet Tubman was a slave who escaped and helped other slaves escape. Harriet Tubman was a famous conductor of the Underground Railroad. She leads hundreds of slaves to freedom. She was an American abolitionist, humanitarian, and an armed scout and spy for the United States Army during the American Civil War.


What is the Underground Railroad and how did people get there?  

The Underground Railroad was a network of secret routes and safe houses establishing in the United States during the early-mid - 19th century, and are used by African - American slaves to escape into the free states.


What are spirituals and would this help slaves?

Spirituals are generally Christian songs that were created by African - Americans and it would help them concentrate and get their work done.
