Project Based Learning

This week in school we are doing this thing called PBL (Project Based Learning). I'm in a group with two other people and our group name is H.H.S (Helping Hands Society). To help the community our topic is fixing the big litter problem. We have chosen litter because it is a big problem in a lot of communities, and we think that we could help out and make our community look nicer and it would have a healthy environment. If we keep helping the community by putting our rubbish in bins it would become Eco-friendly.

To help my research I have used this website

What is the issue?

Litter is an important environmental issue.  It is amazing that 94% of people identify litter as a major environmental problem and yet people still litter.  Carelessly discarded garbage affects every member of society: it causes harm to people and animals, damages our waterways, cost us money and suggests that we do not care for our environment.  Fortunately, we can all do something to help prevent and reduce litter.

Maori Performing Arts

Maori Performing Arts

Haka

A Haka is a Maori ceremonial war dance involving chanting, an imitation of which is performed by New Zealand rugby teams before a match.

Music

Traditional Maori music or Te Puoro Maori is composed or performed by Maori, the native people of New Zealand, and includes a wide variety of folk music style, often integrated with poetry and dance.

Tattoos

Tattoos in Maori are called Ta Moko. Ta moko is the permanent body and face marking by
Maori. Traditionally it is distinct from tattoo and tatau in that the skin was carved by uhi (chisels) rather than punctured. This left the skin with grooves, rather than a smooth surface.

Clothing

Māori clothing and adornment – kākahu Māori. Traditionally, Māori made their clothes and adornments from native plants, and bird and animal skins. There was a great variety of garments, including many kinds of cloaks.

My Own Poems

It was nightfall, and he was tall and he followed the protocol,
His breath made me want to experience death,
It was bitter it smelt like a cats litter,
He said he was an artist and smartest of them all,
Said he owned a kingdom and it is called Princedom,
We made a bet on if it was true then I ended in debt
I had to got to the bank headquarters,
His name was Jerry then I realized it was imaginary

I went to the swamp and saw a wasp,
This species seemed greasy,
I saw a snake charmer and he was wearing a lot of armor,
He thought he was on the road to glory but the snake was predatory,
He said the snake was stolen and thought for a moment,
If he stole the snake he is in a crisis
